Italy

Milan

Day 14.

The fashion capital Milan lives up to its reputation. Everyone seemed dressed with style. The center is dotted with boutiques and some streets lined with the world’s top fashion houses where you can buy a dress for thousands of Euros. We walked around looking at the clothes as art.

Day 15.

We walked and metro’d our way about as much as we could in one day: the duomo, Leonardo’s Last Supper, the castle, churches, museums. We ate pizza, pasta, bruschetta, and drank Pinot Nero to celebrate our time in Italy.

Goodbye Milan city of style

Your streets are quite grungy

But your people are fine

Some even divine

Dressed in fashions anew

Goodbye Milan

We say adieu

We walked so many a mile

But we’ve seen all your treasures

There’s been no half measures

Goodbye Milan

Our time is at end

Verona

Day 16.

Finally, Homewood bound we stopped at Verona. In this ancient city we walked medieval streets, ate fresh figs, and saw the roman Amphitheatre, built so many years ago, still in use today. We passed the Roman gate to the city and like all good tourists, visited the supposed balcony that inspired Shakespeare to write Romeo and Juliet.
